Writing Letters to Our Farm to School Partner

Students in first grade were excited to learn last week that we have been paired with a local farmer, whom we will correspond with over the course of the rest of the year to learn more about farming and plant science.  Farmer Christa, from Jericho Settlers Farm has agreed to answer some of our plant questions and share with us some information about farming and her life as a farmer.  This connection deepens our understanding of plant science, but it also:  improves our understanding of where our food comes from AND grows our school to community connections in a very positive way.

Students each wrote a thoughtful letter introducing themselves and asking at least one question.  Questions ranged from how to grow the biggest pumpkin to why Farmer Christa became a farmer.  We look forward to her response!
