Planting Seeds

In kindergarten this week a student in Ms. Agner's class shared a center on seeds and planting seeds. Center creation is a time for students to explore their interests, but it is also a time for students to learn about each other. As our leader this week, the student shared why he had selected this topic. He said every year he and his mom and his sister plant flowers in their yard and that this was a very important and great thing that was special to him! He wanted to talk about that time and then share that experience with the class!

Students took a seed challenge, and tried to figure out what seeds might grow what plants, and then planted some seeds in either wet paper towels or a small amount of dirt in a plastic bag. We then drew what we hope will grow, and attached the bags to the windows. We will keep watching to see what happens! We wonder if the seeds in dirt will do better than the seeds on the paper towel.
